About UCML Capital
UCML Capital Limited, formerly known as Union Capital Markets Limited was established on December 21, 1999, as a subsidiary of Union Bank Plc to engage in brokerage activities within the Nigerian capital market. Over the years, we have evolved significantly to meet the changing needs of our clients and the market. In 2014, we expanded our capabilities by obtaining licenses to operate as an issuing house and underwriter, enabling us to engage in financial advisory, capital raising activities and to underwrite transactions in the Nigerian capital markets. This strategic move allowed us to enhance our service offerings and better support our clients in their financial endeavors.
In 2023, we underwent a significant transformation when we separated our brokerage business from the group. The brokerage license was transferred to a newly established entity, UCML Securities Limited, following the approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission on November 8, 2023. This pivotal change allowed UCML Capital Limited to concentrate exclusively on our investment banking services.
